A real wood face on a layered core
Engineered hardwood is built in layers. The core is composite, usually plywood, and the top is a solid wood veneer, so what you see, feel and walk on is real wood.
That construction is the whole point of the product. It gives you a hardwood floor without asking a single board to do every job at once, and it is why we offer it alongside vinyl, laminate, tile and carpet.
Our hardwood work also includes refinishing tired solid floors, which is a different job covered on our sand and finish page.
Where it goes, and where it does not
Our guide says it straight: avoid installing engineered hardwood in any wet area such as your kitchen and bathroom. If a room sees standing water, the honest answer is a waterproof floor, and our vinyl plank and tile pages cover those.
Preparation matters as much as the board. For hardwood, the job site has to be at normal living conditions 2 days before the wood is delivered, so the planks can settle into the house before they are laid.
When you call, we can cover the best flooring for the type of home you have, your family size and your pet situation, then build an estimate that fits your budget.
Species, and the long view
Hardwood comes in oak, maple, cherry, walnut, ash and mahogany, each with its own grain and color. Bring a sample photo or visit the showroom on FM 2493 and we will talk through what suits your rooms and your budget.
With proper maintenance, hardwood can last up to 20 years or more. That is the long view, and it is the reason a floor like this is worth choosing carefully the first time.
Every professional installation comes with our 1-year warranty, and our installers clean up and remove all trash when they finish.
